Introducing "What's New?"

Since the completion of my website on February 1st, I've been making a few adjustments here and there. I've changed some colors, fonts, and image positions to make everything more consistent-- As consistent as my neurodivergent noodle will allow anyway. I was so proud of the way this site turned out that I made business cards for it! Unfortunately, its come to my attention that the URL is not something that people are going to memorize and frequently return to. I didn't want this site to appear stagnant while I take forever working on things behind the scenes, like with my Youtube channel. How was I gonna keep people in the loop?

My first solution was to add the subscription bar at the bottom of the page. But aside from the fact that setting up that box to send automatic emails whenever I post something was confusing, and its functionality is sketchy at best, who actually checks their promotions/spam folder on a regular basis? I sure don't. ...Besides, I don't want to be annoying. I just don't want to be forgotten either.

My next idea was to link to my Ko-Fi account, but I've come to discover you need a Ko-Fi to use a Ko-Fi... And the name "Ko-Fi" is apparently very intimidating to those who don't want to spend money-- Even though the money thing is completely optional, people won't even look at a website they think is going to demand money of them.

So, after that I thought about making a newsroom of sorts on a popular social media platform. I don't have a Twitter/X/Whatever-its-called-now, so Threads seemed like the next best thing. ...Only, its not. You need an Instagram account to use Threads, and not everybody has or even wants an Instagram account. Threads isn't exactly a friendly place from what I've seen anyway, so I think I'm eventually going to replace that with a Discord server when/if I ever get a following. I dunno. It's in my cognition. I'll let it stew there for a bit.

The "What's New?" button on the landing page (which is probably how you found this post you are now reading) is my most recent attempt at keeping people informed and hopefully enticing them back regularly. THIS is where I'm dropping all my updates: Everything I'm working on, thinking about working on, have worked on, or whatever. ...Yeah, I'll post allusions to such on Ko-Fi and Threads for consistency's sake, but the details will be here.

My plans for this section is to chronicle anything and everything I do or am doing that's related to this website or my projects. It might be a pretty boring read sometimes since I'm not going to add pictures to it like I do with stories in the Library, nor color the text like I do with C8E Cogitations, but it'll be informative at the very least.

...Obviously links are colored, but that's automatic.

So yeah, this is a thing now. Yay!

But wait! How will regular updates here remind people to come back to the website, if the reminders to come back are ON the website they've forgotten to come back to? Uh, good question. I'll think about that. In the meantime, I'll cop out by poking the tiny me at the bottom of this page who is poking a subscriber button, and hope for the best. lol!
